August 2008 Tameside Council - Play Builder Scheme

Granada Park has been awarded over £100,000 to install an under 13's area as part of the above scheme. It will be one of the flagship schemes -plans are already underway and work will be starting very soon.

 

October 2008 Opening Doors for Older People Fund  

The Friends Group have been awarded £15,000 from the above fund to install exercise equipment for the over 50's. The outdoor gym will be put in place as soon as the under 13's area is completed.

December 2008 Bowling

The Friends Group have been working with a keen group of bowlers who hope to bring back bowling to Granada Park - for all ages. They have successfully applied for funding through Awards for All for new equipment.

 

August 2009 Sports Cage funding

£15,000 from the Tameside Sports Trust

£1,320 Manchester Airport Community Foundation - benches for bowling green

£2,000 TMBC Community Chest Fund - benches for rest of park

£49,999 awarded from Groundwork Community Spaces - for the sports cage

 

March 2011

£3,500 awarded from Groundwork Community spaces - for equipment and school holiday sessions, more details to follow..

£36,800 awarded from the SITA trust - for the bowling pavillion

£4,000 awarded from You Choose - for bins, fencing and plants
